This is one of the most character-rich MUGEN games around. You can customise the game a little, such as selecting the game difficulty and speed. Selecting a faster speed can add an edge to the game that may keep you coming back for more.

Nostalgia Was Better In My Day

The truth is that in this day and age there is no need to play a game like this unless you want to go back to a simpler time and live in a past for a little while. This game doesn’t have the depth or playability to keep people entertained for weeks at a time. Have a jaunt and kill a few characters, and then delete it and move on with your life. If you are paying for this game, then you may want to think again unless they are charging pocket change.

Do not be mistaken, the game is fun, and if you liked the older version of Mortal Kombat and you can handle the controls, then there are hours of fun to be had. Go on YouTube and watch a few videos of fatalities to see if you can lather up enough bloodlust to buy.

What About Windows?

You are going to see a few websites hosting this game and offering it for download. Many are going to say that it is a Windows 7 game, but this is untrue. It will not work for Windows 7, but you can alter your settings to make it work. You need to go to compatibility mode and select another version of Windows. Doing it this way will usually make it work. There are forums and online articles that will tell you how to make your computer backwards-compatible for older games. Try the more modern operating system versions first, such as Windows 8, Vista and XP before you start going back to things such as Windows 98 or 2000.

Combos And Fatalities Are Easier Than Ever

You are better off playing with a joypad if you want to play the traditional way, but using keys has an advantage when it comes to fatalities. You just press the buttons in the right order and you are done. On the joypad you have to press left, left, right, down, etc, and it is difficult, but with the keyboard you just type with the keys (just like when you were fighting) and you finish off your opponent.

Controlling Your Player Is Very Difficult

Playing on your computer can be difficult. If you do not have a gamepad, then playing King of Fighters Vs Mortal Kombat is going to be tough unless you are particularly dexterous with your fingers. Here are the controls:

A = Light punch

S = Strong punch

D = Stronger punch

Y = Light kick

X = Strong kick

C = Stronger kick

You can kind of see what the programmers were going for. You use your right hand to move and do a light kick, and you use your left hand to fight with, but it is awkward--especially with the C and X. Some people are going to have to look at the keyboard in order to fight.
